Brief 1: Names

One of the most important parts to the brand is the name. I need it to be representative on the concept and the products. The main thing that I need to take into consideration is Italy and the meaning of bread in the country. It is still as popular now in the country as it has been in the past because of it's simplicity and ability to be eaten with any meal. I also want it to relate to bread itself, and not be a name which is a bit random. I do want the name to be in Italian, as this is obviously a lot more in sync than a name in english.

Looking back over the research I have a few different names:
  • Bread - Pane
  • Crumbs - Briciole
  • The Baker - il panettiere
  • Bake - Infornare
  • Baking - Cottura al Forno
  • Source of Life/Life Source - Fonte De Vita
  • Life - Vita
  • Food of Life - Cibo Di Vita
  • Breaking Bread - Pane Rottura
  • Breaking of Bread - Frazione Del Pane
I think that to go with the overall concept of the modern and simple design, a long name would probably be a bit contradictory of this. Something that I want to take into account is the significance of bread in a religious sense. Italy is a very religious country, and bread does play a large part in religion as it features throughout the testaments, and is referred to as the food of life, life source. I feel that this might have a bit more significance than just using a name which is directly related to bread and doesn't take Italy into consideration.

With this, at the minute I am considering either 'Life', 'Source of Life' or 'Food of Life'. They are all generally the same, but I have to decide which one works best for the brand I want to create.
