I started by looking into a few hand drawn typographers that I have been following.
Dan Cassaro

Dan Cassaro is a typographer that I have been following since I came across him when doing my second year summer brief. He creates hand drawn type work for a variety of outcomes, such as branding and promotion. I like the fact that he has a certain style, but he applies it to a variety of different type designs, each individual and very clearly considered.
Jeff Rodgers

Jeff Rodgers is also a typographer I came across while doing my second year brief. His work is very colourful and fun, and makes the media all quite interesting to look at. He creates the work by hand, but uses the computer to digitally manipulate the work to be more consistent and work together better.
Mike Perry

Mike Perry is a designer that I have been following since my foundation level. I have previously experimented with his style of hand drawn type, and find that it's a fun and playful style, and seems quite impulsive.
Si Scott

Si Scott's typography is very intricate and clearly very time consuming. The work he creates is something that you wouldn't get the same effect of if using digital media instead.

Tobias Hall is a designer that I came across on Behance. He is a freelance designer who is currently working for Zizzi's as their in-house designer and art director. He works in both type and illustration. I like that he has a very clear style, and each design has similar elements but the tone of voice is changed. I also like the use of colour.
James Lufuente

James Lufuente is another designer I found on Behance. He uses the same style of typography throughout his work, showing that the same type style can be used across a variety of layouts etc. I like that his typography is quite contemporary and works over a variety of outputs. He has also developed a hand drawn typeface, which is quite interesting.
Kate Moross
Kate Moross is a designer based in London, running her own design studio. I found her work when I was doing the second year summer brief. Her studio works mainly with music acts and is very specific in the audience and the overall designs. Within this there is a variety of bespoke typography created for each brief, and shows the variety of designs achieved in a hand drawn style.
Following this I looked into work online to look at the variety of hand drawn typography that I could possibly work in.
Overall I have quite a wide variety in terms of layout and the type design. I hadn't initially wanted to play around with the idea of layout, or writing in a shape , however some of the designs look really great in this format and it is something that I want to explore.
What I need to do now is make a plan for every day of the 30 days and decide which style I am going to do and when. I think the best way to do this is start off with the simple typefaces and build up to the more complex ones as I think that this will improve my confidence and ability at the same time so hopefully by the end I will have a better result in the later designs.
