Brief 2 - Truffle Gift Box & Extras

Following the completion of the jars, it was decided that we wanted to create a small gift box for the truffles to be placed in.

Our original intention was that the customer would purchase a jar of truffles, however with the move to use the larger jar and have them be purchased individually, a gift box is needed. I decided to create this.

With the foiling we had foiled an extra sheet in case the packaging went wrong. The packaging had worked perfectly, so we still had the sheet. this meant that I could use this for this small packaging as it is identical to the other two boxes already created.

I worked around the logo and created a box net, following the same format as I did to create the classic flavoured box, where it all folds in on itself to create a fluent design. I decided on a size of about 8cm x 12cm. This keeps it rectangular like the other boxes and keeps it at a fairly decent size for a gift box, while being different from the other two boxes.

The previous two boxes are different in design, so to follow with this, I created this box to have a slight difference as well. The bottom half to the box is a couple of centimetres taller, creating a lifted lid.

Final box:

As the other two boxes have patterned mount board bases, we decided that this box obviously needed something similar. We decided on using gold fabric tissue paper. It creates that gold on brown contrast and builds on the idea of it being a gift. It is also more appropriate as it will be truffles going in this box, not chocolate bars.

With the changes that we had to make to the jar vinyls, it was also decided that labels would need to be made.

Charlie created the original design for this and I sized it down to a suitable label size to work with the jar sizes. We decided on using a circle as this is a small design element used across everything. We kept the labels very simple in layout, and attached them to the jars using gold thread.

Final labels:

Now these extra small pieces have been completed, it really creates an all round image of the brand and finishes it off. All that is left to do is the wraps for the boxes and then it is complete.
